The construction is made of a webcam, white canvas and a projector.
"Body Echo" is an interactive installation. The goal of the project is to arouse interest in the visitor. The user can interact with the installation by standing in front of the canvas and can experiment with his own movements. The installation could be used for dance presentations, in the theatre or in museums, as an interesting background element. The construction is made of a webcam, white canvas and a projector. The person has to stand between the projector and the canvas. The webcam recognizes his shaddow on the canvas. Controlled via Processing, the shadow gets tracked. Graphic elements appear and follow the tracked shaddow.
The project was created as part of the second semester assessment at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd, during the workshop Three-Dimensional Basics, led by Prof. Dr. Franklin Hernández-Castro.
